From Frankfurt to China for free

Frankfurt city has a special offer for its citizens and visitors. Anyone can travel to China for free.

In the center of Frankfurt, close to the busy Zeil, there is a little oasis – Bethmannpark. It is full of flowers, trees and grass, which makes it popular place to relax on warm afternoons and weekends.

Inside the park there is another one. And that is where the magic happens. You cross the gate with lions and you find yourself in the Chinese Garden or “Garden of Heavenly Peace”.

It is described as very calm and peaceful place, but on weekends, full of tourists, it is not so quiet.

It was created in 1989 to commemorate Tiananmen Square massacre in Beijing.

Everything is built according to feng shui rules. There is a waterfall, a pond, and “a bridge of the half-boat“. Even if just for the moment, it is definitely worth to stop there and “move to China”.

The park is opened every day and entrance is free.

It is easily accessible by public transport. Closest stops are:

Hessendenkmal – tram 12 and 18

Merianplatz – U4
